2027 Canadian guard has a fall official visit scheduled
Canadian 2027 guard Chance Berry dropped a “Where’s home??” graphic Wednesday with eight logos around her in a Canada jersey. One of them is the red S. That’s not noise. That’s a top-eight list.
Berry is a 5-foot-11 scoring guard out of Ontario. She starred at Royal Crown Academic School, played for Team Canada at the U16 and U17 levels, and just moved to DME Academy in Florida for her senior year so more U.S. coaches can see her live. ESPN has her around No. 50 in the 2027 class with a 93 grade. People who watch her call her “Shifty” for a reason. She scores in bunches, changes speeds, and creates her own shot.
The Wolfpack offered her in late July. She posted the graphic “Blessed to receive an offer from NC State University #Gopack🐺” then. A little over a month later, she narrowed it to eight: West Virginia, Syracuse, Texas Tech, Arizona, Arizona State, UCF, Penn State, and NC State. Per On3, she has laid out official visits with each of her eight finalists, including NC State this fall.
That’s a real mix of power-conference programs. Some of those schools have been in it longer. NC State is newer to the conversation, which makes the graphic better for Pack fans. Getting named in the top eight this early after she relocated to Florida, with a fall official on the calendar, is a solid win for the staff.
Berry’s recruitment has stayed quieter than some of the other 2027 names. She talked to On3 back in May and mentioned Texas Tech, West Virginia, Syracuse, and Arizona State. The list has clearly grown since then. UCF, Arizona, Penn State, and NC State made the cut.
She’s a 2027, so this is her senior year. The early signing period hits in November. A verbal commitment can come well before that. Nothing is locked yet, but the clock is moving. When a prospect puts NC State on a “where’s home” graphic in early September and already has an official visit planned, the Pack is in a live conversation, not a distant one.
For a program trying to stay relevant on the high-major women’s trail, landing a Canadian international with national-team experience and a scoring reputation would be a nice get. Berry has said she’s more focused on getting noticed in the States than Canadian rankings. That’s exactly why she went to DME.
Now we wait to see if “home” ends up being Raleigh. Wolfpack fans will take the inclusion for now. It’s a start.
