Contact period is on. Is Grind Prep about to get a Wolfpack visit?
De’Andra Minor is a 6-foot combo guard at Grind Prep in Oklahoma and one of the more intriguing kids on NC State’s 2027 board. The Wolfpack offered because she’s got that mix of length, speed, and confidence that translates well to the ACC. Scouts keep using words like “lanky” and “high ceiling,” which usually means they see a player who can keep getting better.
She’s comfortable with the ball in her hands or playing off it. She likes to attack to her right, finish through contact, and she’s not scared to let it fly from three when the floor is spaced. That combination makes her a modern combo guard, someone who can initiate or play next to another ball-handler.
At NC State she’d add another long, athletic body in the backcourt. Moore’s teams have always valued players who can guard multiple positions and rebound from the perimeter. Minor fits that. She wouldn’t have to be the primary point guard on day one, but she could grow into a two-way piece who pushes the tempo and makes plays in transition.
Oklahoma isn’t exactly next door, so the fact that NC State is in the mix says they like her a lot. She’s the kind of prospect who can sneak up on people if she keeps developing her left hand and half-court creation.
Known competition: The main schools around her are Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Kentucky, Kansas and Ole Miss. She has already cut her list to six finalists. Home-state programs and Kentucky are the names to watch most.
