Seven takeaways from the Wolfpack’s new league slate

The 2026-27 NC State women’s basketball schedule is locked in. The ACC dropped the 18-game league slate Wednesday, so the dates now sit around the non-con schedule Wes Moore rolled out in August. Times and TV still aren’t out, but the map is: nine at Reynolds, nine on the road, Wake Forest as the only home-and-home, and the ACC Tournament back at Spectrum Center in Charlotte from March 3-7. Season tickets are already gone. Mini-packs go to Wolfpack Club members Sept. 8 and everybody else Sept. 10. Seven quick hits from the league slate:

1. Nine and nine. Eighteen ACC games, split down the middle. Wake is the protected double (Jan. 24 in Raleigh, Feb. 25 in Winston-Salem). Everybody else is a one-off.
2. It starts on the road, and it starts early. League opener is at UNC on Dec. 13, then at Florida State on Dec. 17. Two conference road games before Christmas, with Navy still parked at Reynolds on Dec. 20 as a non-con date in between.
3. New Year’s Eve is a home ACC night. Miami comes to Reynolds on Dec. 31. Duke follows on Jan. 3. That’s a loud way to open the home league slate. Duke just won the ACC at 16-2.
4. The West Coast trip is a four-day sprint. At Cal on Jan. 7, at Stanford on Jan. 10. Last year both of those were in Raleigh. This year it’s Berkeley and Palo Alto.
5. Play4Kay is Virginia, not Carolina. The Kay Yow game is Monday, Feb. 1 at Reynolds against UVA. UNC is only the December road game. Still just one regular-season meeting with the Heels.
6. February at Reynolds is stacked. After Virginia and Pitt, it’s Boston College on Feb. 11, Notre Dame on Feb. 18, and Clemson on Senior Day, Feb. 28. Getting Notre Dame at home is the flip of last year’s loss in South Bend and the ACC Tournament quarterfinals.
7. The finish isn’t a cooldown. After Notre Dame, the Pack goes to Louisville on Feb. 21, to Wake on Feb. 25, then closes at home against Clemson. Louisville went 15-3 in the league last year. That’s the last real test before Selection Sunday. Times and TV still TBA.

Overall, it punches early and saves some of the best nights for Reynolds. Road games at Carolina and FSU to start, a West Coast week in the middle, then Duke, Notre Dame, Play4Kay, and Senior Day in Raleigh. The dates are official. Broadcasts come later.
