Wolfpack staff can hit the road Today while Moore’s Dallas-area trip raises questions about Jazman Bailey and more.
The quiet period wrapped up last night. Today, NC State’s coaches can finally hit the road for 2027 seniors. In-person, off-campus contact is back on. High school gyms, living rooms, the whole thing. Younger classes stay evaluation-only for scholastic games.
Wolfpack fans know what that means: time to refresh Twitter/X and Instagram. Coaches’ locations tend to leak fast once September hits. A prospect posts a photo, a parent tags a coach in the stands, or a local account spots the staff walking into a gym. That’s how we’ll track where Nikki West, Ashley Williams, Brittany Morris and the rest are landing.
One thing we already know: Wes Moore himself was in Arlington Sunday watching the Dallas Wings beat the Connecticut Sun. Former Pack players Saniya Rivers and Aziaha James were on the floor. Moore is from the Dallas area originally, so it could’ve just been a quick family trip plus a chance to see his old players. But Mansfield is right there too, and that’s where 2027 point guard Jazman Bailey plays for Lake Ridge. Coincidence? Maybe. Timing is interesting with contact period starting today.
Moore and his staff have a reputation for being pretty stealthy on the recruiting trail. They tend to work quietly, build relationships behind the scenes, and let things develop before much of it hits social media. That means even if we don’t see a flood of photos tomorrow, they could already be making moves.

Who might actually be interested, and who has a real shot
The two Maryland kids (Manyacka and Samuels) plus Jordyn Palmer are the biggest names. They’re getting heavy attention from the usual blue-bloods. NC State is in the mix, but landing any of those three would be a home-run swing. Still worth chasing. Moore’s staff has pulled surprises before.
Palmer is a long shot. As the No. 6 prospect in the class, pretty much every blue blood is in on her. She already has official visits set with South Carolina and Ohio State, with UCLA likely next.
Qandace Samuels has a unique connection. Her older sister Qadence is already on the NC State roster and has one more year of eligibility thanks to the new 5 in 5 rule. That family tie could move the needle. Qandace would be joining a sister who already knows the coaches, the campus, and the culture.
Jazman Bailey feels like the most realistic “interested and attainable” name on the board right now. She’s a Texas kid, Moore was literally in her backyard Sunday, and the Pack has a history of developing guards. If the staff is serious about her, this week is when we’ll start seeing them in the Lake Ridge gym, or maybe we won’t see it until later. That’s the stealthy part.
De’Andra Minor (Oklahoma) and the two Norfolk Christian kids, Justice Brown-Jones and Abuna Ruop, also feel like solid fits. Closer geographically than the New England or Idaho prospects, and NC State’s style could appeal, especially if they’re looking to add size with Ruop.
Bella Owumi, Brookeslee Colvin, and Corinne Lomax are longer shots just because of distance and the number of other Power 4 programs already in their living rooms. Not impossible, but they’d need a strong unofficial or official visit to move the needle.
Keep an eye on social media starting today, but don’t be surprised if things stay quiet at first. Moore’s staff likes to operate under the radar. If they pop up in Mansfield, Maryland, Oklahoma, Norfolk, or Pennsylvania this week, we’ll know which names they’re prioritizing. The 2027 class is still wide open for the Pack. September is when it starts getting real.
