Five 6’2”s, One 6’3”, and a Different Kind of Size
NC State’s 2026-27 listed roster isn’t the tallest group in the ACC. They’re not winning the “who has the 6’5” kid?” contest. What they do have is a bunch of 6’2”–6’3” players packed onto a 12-player list. That’s the real story here: not max height, but mid-size length stacked deep enough to hint at how this team wants to play.

- 6’2”: Maddie Cox, Khamil Pierre, Kamora Pruitt, Khady Leye, Favour Ossai (5)
- 6’0”: Qadence Samuels, Audrey Ericksen (2)

- 5’10”: Destiny “Ky’She” Lunan, Zoe Brooks (2)
- 5’8”: Desiree Wooten
Average listed height: ~6’0.3” (72.3 inches).
6 players at 6’2” or taller (50% of the roster). 8 players at 6’0” or taller.
How that stacks up in the ACC
Most ACC rosters run 13–15 players and spread size differently. NC State is not the tallest team in raw average or max height, but it is one of the deepest at the 6’2” mark.
Teams with comparable or more frontcourt size:
- Stanford (12 players): average ~6’1”. Six players 6’2”+, including two at 6’5” (Alexandra Eschmeyer, Kiara Green), one 6’4” (Kennedy Umeh), and two 6’3” (Ilse de Vries, Inés Sotelo Míguez).
- Virginia (13 players): average ~6’0.7”. Seven players 6’2”+, including one 6’5” (Adeang Ring), two 6’4” (Tabitha Amanze, Caterina Piatti), and two 6’3” (Lyla Coogen, Janaé Walker).
- Duke (14 players): average ~6’0.6”. Six players 6’2”+, including three at 6’4” (Jordan Wood, Arianna Roberson, Taylor Sofilkanich) plus 6’3” Delaney Thomas. More vertical length at the top.
- Virginia Tech (13 players): average ~6’0.4”. Six players 6’2”+, including two 6’4” (Jessica Dimaro, Arianna Harris-Mott) and three 6’3”. Similar density of size.
- Notre Dame (10 players): average ~6’0.1”. Six players 6’2”+, including two at 6’3” (Isabella Sangha, Anaya Hardy) and four at 6’2” (Jacy Abii, Bella Ragone, Amari Byles, Leah Macy).
- North Carolina (14 players): average ~6’0.1”. Four players 6’2”+ but they go higher: 6’5” Blanca Thomas and two 6’4” (Ciera Toomey, Noelle Bofia). More traditional post size, fewer 6’2” wings/forwards.
- Louisville (13 players): average ~5’11.5”. Five players 6’2”+ (two 6’4”, one 6’3”, two 6’2”). Slightly less mid-size depth than NC State.
Shorter or more guard-heavy ACC rosters (typical Pitt/BC/Wake Forest/SMU/FSU groups) sit closer to 5’10”–5’11” team-wide and have only 2–4 players at 6’2”+.
So yeah, the listed numbers already show NC State leaning into a long, physical mid-size frontcourt. That’s not “find the 6’6” and hide her on the block.” It’s more like a bunch of 6’2”–6’3” players who can bang, switch, and stay on the floor together. Think switching defense, extra bodies on the glass, and post work that looks like seals and short rolls instead of old-school drop coverage. Offensively it should look physical and connected: screens, extra passes, cutters finishing through contact because half the roster has the same length. The downside is obvious — you’re not getting a lot of 6’5”+ shot-blocking. You live on positioning, toughness, and having another 6’2” ready when someone sits. Against ACC teams that live on the perimeter waiting to pop a 3, that can travel. Against smaller lineups, it can wear people down over 40 minutes. That’s the bet. Heights may still get tweaked before the season opener, but the list already tells you what this roster is trying to be.
