Kamora Pruitt: NC State Women’s Basketball 2026 Signee

Kamora Pruitt, known as “KP,” is a highly touted 6-2 versatile forward/wing from DeSoto, Texas, who signed her National Letter of Intent with NC State women’s basketball on November 14, 2025.

As a member of the Class of 2026, she brings a dynamic skill set to the Wolfpack, having committed to the program on October 12, 2025, in a surprise in-person announcement at Reynolds Coliseum.

Pruitt chose NC State over a competitive field of finalists, including Arizona, Oklahoma, Baylor, and SMU, after narrowing down from a final 16 that featured powerhouse programs like UConn, UCLA, and Louisville.

Early Life and High School Career

Pruitt began her high school journey at DeSoto High School in Texas, where she contributed to a state championship win as a freshman in 2022.

She later transferred to Legion Prep Academy in Dallas, where she excelled during her junior season in 2025, averaging 16.1 points per game across 23 contests.

Her performance helped lead Legion Prep to a TCAL Championship, earning her MVP honors for the tournament, along with first-team all-area and all-state selections.

Midway through the season, Pruitt was named MVP at the Memphis Hoopfest.

By her junior year, she had surpassed 1,000 career points, showcasing her scoring prowess early in her prep career.

On the AAU circuit with Team Lex, Pruitt continued to shine, becoming an OTE Champion and earning 3SSB All-American recognition.

Her elite-level exposure extended to national camps, including an invitation to the USA Basketball U16 tryouts, selection as one of 16 participants in the Steph Curry Camp Bay Area, and attendance at Breanna Stewart’s Stewie 30 Training Camp.

Recruiting Rankings and Evaluation

Pruitt is a consensus top-40 recruit in the 2026 class, rated as a four-star prospect by most outlets but earning five-star status in the 247Sports Composite with a 0.9887 rating, placing her at No. 32 overall nationally, No. 8 among power forwards, and No. 4 in Texas.

Other rankings include No. 27 by Rivals, No. 28 by 247Sports, and No. 38 by ESPN’s SportsCenter NEXT 100.

She also holds a 94 Scouts Grade from ESPN.

Rivals and On3 rank her as the No. 4 small forward in her class.

Scouting reports highlight Pruitt’s unique blend of size and perimeter skills, making her a “matchup nightmare.”

At 6-2, she possesses the length for frontcourt duties but plays with guard-like versatility, excelling as a fourth ball-handler who can roam for easy paint buckets or spot-up corner threes.

Her athleticism allows her to create off the bounce, with strengths in deep-range shooting, rebounding, and defensive rebounding from the 3 or 4 positions.

Areas for college development include refining her ability to create in tight spaces, such as a catch-jab-rip-go series, and maintaining a 33% or higher three-point shooting clip to maximize her offensive impact.

Outlook at NC State

NC State head coach Wes Moore praised Pruitt’s fit with the program: “We’re extremely pumped to have KP joining the Pack Family. Her combination of athleticism, length and versatile skillset makes her a matchup nightmare. Starting with her deep range from 3, an ability to create off the bounce and her being a force on the boards – we expect KP to make an immediate impact and add to our winning culture here at State.”

Alongside fellow 2026 signee Annsley Trivette, Pruitt helps form a Top-15 recruiting class for the Wolfpack, ranked No. 14 nationally by 247Sports.

Her arrival in the 2026-27 season positions her to contribute early in the ACC, building on NC State’s tradition of developing versatile forwards into key rotation players.
