Annsley Trivette, also known as “A.J.,” is a 6-3 versatile forward/center from Abingdon, Virginia, who signed her National Letter of Intent with NC State women’s basketball on November 12, 2025.https://artifacts.grokusercontent.com/third-party-image
As a member of the Class of 2026, she committed to the Wolfpack on August 11, 2025, becoming the program’s first pledge in that cycle.
Trivette selected NC State over offers from Virginia, Wake Forest, James Madison, Georgetown, Belmont, and Providence, among others.

Early Life and High School Career
Trivette began her high school career at Richlands High School in Virginia before transferring to Abingdon High School, where she has starred as a multi-sport athlete.
As a junior in the 2024-25 season, she averaged 20.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.8 blocks, and 1.8 steals per game, earning Virginia Class 3 Player of the Year honors.
Through her first three high school seasons, Trivette amassed 1,722 points, 786 rebounds, 307 assists, 193 blocks, and 205 steals.
In her senior year, on January 14, 2026, she surpassed 2,000 career points during a win over Gate City, highlighting her scoring dominance.
Beyond basketball, Trivette excels in other sports, including soccer—where she scored 18 goals on 20 shots with eight assists—and volleyball.
She also won a state title in discus with a school-record throw of 131 feet, 9 inches, showcasing her athletic versatility.
On the AAU circuit with West Virginia Thunder, Trivette helped secure the Under Armour Association U-17 title in the spring of 2025.
In 10 games with the team, she averaged 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting 60 percent from the field.
Recruiting Rankings and Evaluation
Trivette is a consensus four-star prospect and the top-ranked player from Virginia in the 2026 class.

Her arrival in the 2026-27 season positions her for early contributions in the ACC, leveraging her multi-faceted game to impact both ends of the floor.
