Chance Berry announces her college decision tonight at 6:30 p.m., and NC State enters the evening as the final school she visited.

The 5-foot-11 Canadian combo guard from DME Academy (Daytona Beach, Fla.; hometown Brampton, ON) is a four-star prospect ranked No. 50 by ESPN in the Class of 2027. She has already secretly committed and will reveal her choice on a livestream among her final four: Arizona State, NC State, Texas Tech, and West Virginia.

From the Wolfpack perspective, the timing and her own words put Raleigh in a strong position. Berry moved up her official visit and made NC State her last stop, canceling a planned trip to Penn State. Speaking to PackWBB after wrapping the Raleigh visit earlier than originally planned, she confirmed: “I have cancelled my visit to Penn State. NC State was my last one.”

What first drew her to the program was straightforward. “Definitely the program itself, it’s a winning program and I like to win,” she said. “I also like that they’ve developed girls in my position and helped them get to where I wanna be in the future, the WNBA. I’ve seen lots of successful scoring guards come out of NC State.” Once on campus, three things stood out most: “The fanbase, the culture and the city.”

Those comments line up with her broader priorities—winning environments and clear development paths for guards headed to the next level. Her DME coach Michael Panaggio has called her one of the best guards in the country and “probably the best point guard I’ve ever had.” Berry brings FIBA experience with Team Canada (U16 and U17) and chose DME for her senior year specifically to face tougher competition.

Local tracking has stayed optimistic. With the visits complete and NC State as the freshest memory, PackWBB noted that the way she talks about winning, positional development, and culture “leaves both sides with a clear picture of where things stand.” She had already set her announcement window for the weekend of November 6–8.

For a Wes Moore program that has been a consistent ACC contender and NCAA Tournament team, Berry offers high-upside playmaking and scoring from the combo-guard spot. Her emphasis on the Pack’s winning tradition, fanbase, culture, city, and track record developing guards gives NC State a clear case as one of the four finalists heading into tonight’s reveal.
