Contact period just flipped. Next stop for NC State: Tilton School?
Bella Owumi is a 5-foot-11 shooting guard at Tilton School in New Hampshire after transferring from St. Mary’s in Lynn, Mass. She’s a New Hampshire Gatorade Player of the Year and sitting around the top 30 nationally. NC State offered because she’s a high-motor wing who scores, rebounds, and plays with real intensity.
As a junior she averaged 14.5 points and 7-plus rebounds while helping Tilton stay among the top prep teams in New England. Coaches talk about her athleticism in transition, her ability to score at three levels, and the fact that she plays hard every possession. She also rebounds well for a guard, which is always a plus.
She’d bring energy off the bench or in the starting lineup. Owumi is the type who can check a bigger wing, run the floor, and knock down an open three. That two-way versatility fits what NC State likes on the perimeter. She’s not the flashiest name on the board, but she’s productive and she competes.
Coming from the New England prep scene, she’s already used to playing against good competition. That should help the adjustment to ACC speed. She’d be a solid rotational piece who could grow into more if her half-court creation keeps improving.
Known competition: The main schools are Cal, Indiana, Colorado, Florida State and Virginia Tech. She’s been setting official visits, so that list could tighten fast.
