As the NC State women’s basketball roster checks in for Summer Session 2, the excitement is not just coming from the returning leaders Zoe Brooks and Khamil Pierre. A talented group of newcomers are arriving to add fresh energy, size, and potential to the program.

The 2026 freshman class features three key additions who bring different paths to Raleigh but share the same goal of contributing immediately and growing alongside the veteran core. Two of them rank inside the top 100 nationally, helping NC State land one of the stronger classes in the country.

Here is a closer look at the new faces who will be learning from the leaders and building for the future.

Kamora Pruitt: Versatile Forward with Championship Pedigree

Kamora Pruitt, a 6-foot-2 forward/wing from the St. Louis area, took a winding but successful route to NC State. She began her high school career at DeSoto High School in Texas, where she helped win a state championship as a freshman in 2022 and surpassed 1,000 career points by her junior year. She later moved to Legion Prep Academy, where she averaged 16.1 points per game as a junior while leading the team to the 2025 TCAL Championship and earning MVP honors.

Pruitt earned first-team all-area and all-state recognition, was named Memphis Hoopfest MVP, and received McDonald’s All-America Game nominee status along with Ballislife Seaworld All-American honors. She ranks as a consensus top-40 prospect nationally (No. 27 by Rivals, No. 28 by 247Sports, and No. 38-40 range on ESPN services) and was viewed as one of the top small forwards in the class.

She chose NC State over several Power conference programs including Arizona, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oregon, and SMU. Pruitt brings athleticism, scoring ability, and versatility to the frontcourt and wing spots. As she joins the Pack this summer, she will have the chance to learn from All-ACC veterans while adding another dynamic option on the perimeter and in the post.

Annsley Trivette: Local Standout with Multi-Sport Drive

Annsley “AJ” Trivette, a 6-foot-3 forward from Abingdon, Virginia, committed early and has been a steady presence in the class since August 2025. She averaged 20.0 points and 10.4 rebounds per game as a senior while earning Class 3A Player of the Year honors in Virginia. Trivette is a four-star recruit ranked inside the top 100 nationally.

What makes her story unique is her multi-sport background. In addition to basketball dominance, she won Virginia state championships in track and field in both the discus and shot put, setting a school record in the discus. She also competed in volleyball and soccer. That athletic versatility and competitive fire translate directly to the basketball court.

Trivette signed her National Letter of Intent in November 2025 and brings size, rebounding, and a winning mentality to the frontcourt. Her path from a small-town Virginia high school to the ACC shows her determination, and she will have the opportunity this summer to absorb lessons from the senior leaders while carving out her own role.

Favour Ossai Chinoye: International Addition with Frontcourt Potential

Rounding out the class is Favour Ossai Chinoye, a 6-foot-1 Nigerian forward who played her high school basketball in Japan at Fukushima Toryo High School. She adds international flavor and frontcourt depth to the group.

While public information on her game is still developing, she has already shown scoring ability, including a 38-point performance in one game during the 2025 season. Her journey from Nigeria to Japan and now to Raleigh highlights the global reach of NC State’s recruiting under head coach Wes Moore.

Chinoye will have the summer to adjust to the college game and learn the system alongside her new teammates. She provides another big body who can help in the post as the roster builds chemistry.

Building Together This Summer

These three freshmen are arriving at an ideal time. With Brooks and Pierre already setting the standard in the gym, the newcomers will get immediate exposure to high-level leadership and work ethic. Summer Session 2 is about development, relationships, and laying the groundwork for the 2026-27 season.

The combination of proven high school producers like Pruitt and Trivette with the unique international background of Chinoye gives NC State a well-rounded freshman class. They bring size on the wing and in the frontcourt, athleticism, and the hunger to contribute right away.

As the full roster comes together, these young players will be watching and learning from the veterans while carving out their own identities. The future of NC State women’s basketball looks bright with this group joining the core. The 2026 class is here. The work starts now.
