As the NC State women’s basketball roster checks in for Summer Session 2, the excitement continues to build around the core led by Zoe Brooks and Khamil Pierre. In addition to the strong freshman class, head coach Wes Moore has added three experienced transfers through the portal. These players bring immediate depth, scoring ability, and veteran presence to a roster that is reshaping for 2026-27.
The group includes a versatile forward and two guards who have proven themselves at the Power conference and mid-major levels. Each took a different path to Raleigh and will look to contribute right away while learning from the returning leaders.
Here is a closer look at the 2026 transfer additions.
Khady Leye: Versatile Forward Bringing Scoring and Range
Khady Leye, a 6-foot-2 forward from Senegal, made NC State her first transfer portal destination in late April 2026 after two seasons at Auburn. She started all 32 games for the Tigers in 2025-26, playing 28.1 minutes per game and establishing herself as a reliable scoring option.
Leye is known for her smooth jumper, quickness off the dribble, and confidence to take over games in the closing minutes. She fills a key need in the frontcourt with her ability to stretch defenses and create her own shot. Her path from international basketball to the SEC and now to the ACC gives her a unique perspective and high-level experience that will help her adjust quickly to the Wolfpack system.
As she joins the team this summer, Leye will have the opportunity to mesh with All-ACC forwards Khamil Pierre and the rest of the frontcourt while adding another dynamic scoring threat.

Desiree Wooten: Dynamic Guard Adding Backcourt Scoring
Desiree Wooten, a 5-foot-8 guard, committed to NC State in early May 2026 after a breakout season at Colorado. She transferred to the Buffaloes from North Texas and made an immediate impact, averaging 13.4 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game while earning All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors.
Wooten improved her outside shooting during her time at Colorado and brings a proven ability to score at multiple levels. Her path through two different conferences has given her valuable experience adapting to new systems and roles. She chose the Wolfpack to continue her development in a program with strong leadership and a clear vision under Wes Moore.
This summer, Wooten will work alongside senior guard Zoe Brooks to strengthen the backcourt and provide another reliable scoring and playmaking option.

Audrey Ericksen: Veteran Guard Returning Home
Audrey Ericksen, a 6-foot-0 guard, committed to NC State in late May 2026 after three seasons at Boston University. A former standout at Green Level High School in the Triangle, she is returning home with one year of eligibility remaining and is expected to join the team as a walk-on.
Ericksen was a three-year starter at BU and brings veteran experience and perimeter shooting to the roster. She has attempted 274 career three-pointers and provides valuable depth and insurance from beyond the arc. Her decision to come back to North Carolina allows her to finish her career close to home while adding leadership and maturity to a young backcourt.
Hoefully, Ericksen will use the summer to integrate into the Wolfpack culture alongside the rest of the roster.

Building Depth and Chemistry This Summer
These three transfers complement the returning stars and the incoming freshmen perfectly. Khady Leye adds size and scoring versatility up front. Desiree Wooten brings proven production and backcourt firepower. Audrey Ericksen provides experience, shooting, and local roots.
With Brooks and Pierre already setting the tone in the gym, the new additions will get valuable time to build chemistry and learn the system during Summer Session 2. The combination of veteran transfers and talented freshmen gives NC State a well-rounded roster with both immediate contributors and long-term potential.
The portal additions are arriving. The work is ready to get underway. The 2026-27 Wolfpack is taking shape.
