Here is a comprehensive list of current NCAA Division I women’s basketball head coaches and assistants who are part of Wes Moore’s coaching tree, those who served as assistants on his staff at Chattanooga or NC State and remain active in D-I coaching as of June 2026. Moore’s tree is relatively compact but successful, with several former assistants advancing to head-coaching roles or high-level assistant positions.

Current Head Coaches

  • Wes Moore – Head Coach, NC State Wolfpack (2013–present). The root of the tree.
  • Lindsay Edmonds – Head Coach, Rice Owls (2021–present). Spent eight seasons (2013–2021) as assistant/associate head coach and recruiting coordinator under Moore at NC State.
  • Kellie Harper – Head Coach, Missouri Tigers (2025–present). Served as an assistant coach under Moore at Chattanooga (pre-2013).

Current Assistant/Associate Head Coaches

  • Nikki West – Associate Head Coach, NC State Wolfpack (long-time role, returned 2020–present). Served nine seasons as assistant under Moore at Chattanooga before following him to NC State in 2013; one of his longest-tenured protégés.
  • Gene Hill – Associate Head Coach, Miami Hurricanes (2026–present). Spent five seasons (2013–2018) as assistant/recruiting coordinator under Moore at NC State before becoming head coach at Georgia State (2018–2026).
  • Simon Harris – Assistant Coach, Illinois Fighting Illini (2026–present). Served as assistant under Moore at NC State (2018–2026) before joining Shauna Green’s staff at Illinois.

Notes: This focuses strictly on former coaching staff members (assistants) now in active D-I roles. Former players who later joined Moore’s staff (e.g., some current NC State assistants) are generally not included in traditional coaching-tree definitions unless they first served as coaches under him. Recent NC State hire Ronny Fisher and retiree Houston Fancher are excluded.
