The transfer portal officially opens on April 6, and while we’ve already seen over 260 entries, that number is expected to surpass 1,000 before the window closes. The players listed above currently represent the best fits to replace Zam Jones. Should Wes Moore and his staff pursue a veteran portal addition, as of today, these are the primary names to watch as we continue to monitor new entries throughout the portal season.

1.  Jada Williams (Iowa State)

• Role: Elite Secondary Creator / High-Volume Scorer.
• Scoring & Playmaking: 15.3 PPG | 7.7 APG.
• 3-Point Shooting: 29.9% (1.4 makes on 4.7 attempts per game).
• Defense: Noted for 0.9 SPG in 2025-26, previously recorded 1.6 SPG at Arizona.
• The Fit: While her 3pt percentage is slightly lower than a “pure” spacer, her elite assist numbers (7.7 APG) make her the best candidate to run the offense alongside Zoe Brooks, allowing Brooks more freedom to attack the rim. 

2. Kiyomi McMiller (Penn State)

• Role: Dynamic Combo Guard / Main Scoring Threat.
• Scoring & Playmaking: 21.6 PPG | 4.5 APG.
• 3-Point Shooting: 35.3% (1.4 makes on 4.0 attempts per game).
• Defensive Rating: 97.0 (Penn State, 2025-26).
• Defense: 1.8 SPG.
• The Fit: McMiller is the most lethal individual scorer on this list. Her 35.3% from deep and high steal rate provide the 3-and-D efficiency you’re looking for, but with much higher offensive upside than a role player. 

3. Zahirah Walton (George Mason)

• Role: Scoring-Minded Forward/Guard Hybrid (Size/Length).
• Scoring & Playmaking: 18.1 PPG | 2.1 APG | 6.1 RPG.
• 3-Point Shooting: 27.4% in 2025-26 (shot 34.2% in 2024-25).
• Defense: 1.8 SPG | 0.9 BPG.
• The Fit: Walton provides the size (5’11”) NC State lacks in the backcourt. Although her 3pt shooting dipped recently, her ability to rebound and defend multiple positions makes her a high-motor upgrade for the Wolfpack’s versatility. 

4. Aryss Macktoon (La Salle)

• Role: Two-Way Wing / High-Motor Defender.
• Scoring & Playmaking: 15.1 PPG | 1.9 APG | 7.7 RPG.
• 3-Point Shooting: 20.5%.
• Defensive Rating: 82.8.
• Defense: 3.2 SPG.
• The Fit: Macktoon is an elite defensive disruptor with an incredible 82.8 defensive rating. While she is not a primary floor spacer (20.5% from 3), her ability to create extra possessions through steals and rebounding is unmatched. 

5. Kennedy Harris (George Mason)

• Role: Scoring Guard / Disruptive Defender.
• Scoring & Playmaking: 14.1 PPG | 2.2 SPG.
• 3-Point Shooting: 44.0% (2024-25 data shows elite efficiency on 182 attempts).
• Defense: 2.2 SPG.
• The Fit: Harris is the most efficient shooter on this list (44.0%). She fits the “3-and-D” mold perfectly while still having the “scoring-minded” engine to be a secondary playmaker next to Brooks. 

Scouting Summary:
If you want the best shooter, target Kennedy Harris (44% 3PT). If you want the best defender, target Aryss Macktoon (3.2 SPG). If you want the best overall scorer and playmaker, Kiyomi McMiller is the elite choice.
