NANN ARBOR, Mich. – The NC State women’s basketball team fell to Michigan 92-63 in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 game at the Crisler Center on Sunday.
The Wolfpack played in its eighth second-round game in the past nine tournaments. NC State finished the year 21-11, fourth place in the ACC, and tallied its 31st NCAA Tournament showing.NC State matched a season-high 22 turnovers, which Michigan converted into 35 points. After leading 13-12 after the first quarter and holding Michigan to just 28 first-half points, the Wolfpack trailed 28-25 at the break. The Wolverines then erupted for 64 points in the second half, outscoring NC State 64-38 and pulling away with 32-point quarters in the third and fourth.
Michigan was led by Olivia Olson’s 27 points (9-of-19 FG, 3-of-5 from three, 6-of-6 FT) and Syla Swords’ 26 points (9-of-18 FG, 4-of-10 from three, 4-of-4 FT). The duo combined for 53 points as the Wolverines shot 44.9% from the field (35-of-78), hit 10 three-pointers, and dominated the glass (40-30) and points in the paint (40-30) while recording 22 assists and 14 steals.
In the absence of Zoe Brooks, the Pack scored 17 bench points, with Devyn Quigley providing a spark in a career-high 29 minutes off the bench (11 points, four rebounds). Destiny “Ky’She” Lunan earned her first career start and played 13 minutes. NC State shot a solid 45.1% from the field (23-of-51) overall.
Zamareya Jones was outstanding for NC State in a full 40-minute effort, posting 16 points, five rebounds, a career-high nine assists, and a career-high four blocks. Khamil Pierre added 15 points and nine rebounds.
That is a wrap for NC State’s 2025-26 season.
