The Wolfpack absolutely dominated from the opening tip and turned this into a statement win at home. The Pack jumped all over a struggling FSU team and never looked back — the game was over by halftime.

How the Game Unfolded

  • 1st Quarter: 34-11 Wolfpack
Zamareya Jones was unconscious right away — she scored the first 12 points of the game and dropped 15 in the quarter alone (including 3 threes). We shot lights-out early and turned FSU miscues into easy transition scores. The lead hit 23 before the quarter ended.
  • 2nd Quarter: 18-12 Wolfpack (52-23 at half)
Continued control. Zoe Brooks and Khamil Pierre settled in, and the starters kept the pressure on. FSU couldn’t buy a bucket.
  • 3rd Quarter: 16-20 Seminoles
The only quarter they outscored State — mostly because we started subbing freely with the game in hand.
  • 4th Quarter: 15-12 Wolfpack
Pure garbage time. Everyone got run, and Pack coasted to the 28-point final margin.

Bench Play — The Improvement We’ve Been Waiting For

This is exactly what we have been waiting for, and it was one of the most encouraging parts of the night.

NC State bench: 20 points (in 5 players who saw real minutes)
Compare that to just 8 bench points in Monday’s tough loss at UNC — tonight the reserves actually made a difference instead of just filling minutes.

  • Destiny Lunan (off the bench) → 8 points (3-5 FG, 1-1 3PT)
She was the bench spark. Aggressive, got to the rim, knocked down a three. Exactly the kind of energy we need from the second unit.
  • Mallory Collier → 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block
Solid interior minutes, grabbed some boards, and finished strong around the rim.
  • Adelaide Jernigan → 3 points (1-2 3PT)
  • Maddie Cox → 3 points (1-2 3PT), 2 steals
  • Devyn Quigley → 2 points, 2 steals, 1 assist

That’s real progress from a group that’s been quiet most of the season.

Key Individual Notes

  • Zamareya Jones: 25 pts (8-14 FG, 5-8 3PT), 6 reb, 3 stl — took over the game in the first 10 minutes
  • Khamil Pierre: 11 pts, 18 rebounds — another monster on the glass, another double double
  • Zoe Brooks: 14 pts (6-6 FT), 5 reb, 3 ast — steady as always
  • Tilda Trygger: 10 pts, efficient inside
  • Qadence Samuels: 3 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast — did all the little things

Bottom line: This is the kind of complete performance State needed coming off the loss vs UNC. Starters set the tone, bench gave us real production and depth, and we got a much-needed bounce-back win after Monday’s disappointment. The Wolfpack are rolling again — 9-3 in the ACC and feeling good heading into the stretch run. Go Pack!
