7 Quick Takeaways – NC State 83, Florida State 55

  1. Must-win bounce-back executed perfectly
After Monday’s tough loss at UNC, this was a “get right” game. The Pack came out with purpose, dominated wire-to-wire, and sent a clear message: we’re still very much in the ACC mix.
  2. Zamareya Jones was on fire from the jump
Dropped 15 points in the first quarter alone (including three 3s). She set the tone early and finished with 25 points on 8-14 shooting. That hot start basically ended the game in the first 10 minutes.
  3. Khamil Pierre with yet another double-double
11 points, 18 rebounds. She’s quietly been a monster on the glass all season, and tonight she controlled the paint while the starters were still in.
  4. Bench finally delivered real production
20 bench points (up from single digits in recent games). Destiny Lunan led the way with 8, Collier added interior toughness, and the reserves kept the lead from ever slipping.
  5. First-quarter explosion set the tone
34-11. Turned FSU turnovers into easy transition buckets and built a 23-point lead before the Seminoles even blinked. That’s the kind of start we’ve been waiting for.
  6. Depth and balance showed up
Five different Wolfpack players scored in double figures. Starters set the tone, bench kept it rolling — exactly what you want to see in a home blowout.
  7. Regained footing in a big way
9-3 in the ACC, 28-point home win, confidence restored. This was the response game the team needed. The Pack is rolling again and looking dangerous heading into the final stretch. Go Pack!
