Kentucky has rolled through its first two games with dominant rebounding, active length, and easy interior points against lesser competition. Clara Strack and the Wildcats’ size create real second-chance and shot-blocking problems. Their perimeter shooting and free-throw numbers, though, have been shaky, and they haven’t faced a disciplined Power 4 defense yet.
This is the first chance to see NC State’s small-and-speed approach against a ranked Power 4 team. The plan is clear: take away the offensive glass, live with some open threes, attack the rim, and force Kentucky into half-court efficiency they haven’t shown so far. Win the first possession of each quarter and keep the game from turning into a track meet of live-ball turnovers and easy baskets.
The Ally Tipoff matchup in Charlotte is the first true measuring stick of the season. Ride 4 covers the key players to watch, the specific areas to attack, and what success looks like for the Pack.
