No. 25 NC State women’s basketball plays its second game of the season Wednesday against Campbell at Reynolds Coliseum. The Pack opened with an 80-50 win over Wofford on Monday and remain ranked No. 25. This is another home nonconference game before the Ally Tipoff trip to Charlotte.
Game details
- Opponent: Campbell
- When: Wednesday, Nov. 4, 6 p.m.
- Where: James T. Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum, Raleigh
- TV: ACC Network
- Radio / Varsity Network: Ernie and Andrew, 5:45 p.m.
- Next: No. 14 Kentucky, Sunday, Nov. 8, 3 p.m., Ally Tipoff at Spectrum Center
The number: 23. That is how many points Zoe Brooks scored in the 80-50 win over Wofford, shooting 10-of-15 with seven rebounds and six assists. Ky’She Lunan added a career-high 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting with five 3-pointers. Khamil Pierre finished with a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double.
What carries over
- Brooks looked like the preseason All-ACC guard from last year, when she averaged 16.0 points and 4.3 assists. Pierre continued the rebounding production that made her a 16.7-point, 11.9-rebound player in 2025-26. Lunan’s career high was the clearest surprise of the opener.
- NC State led 25-7 after the first quarter and 44-16 at half while holding Wofford to 27 percent shooting overall and 17 percent in the first half. The Pack outrebounded the Terriers 49-36 and scored 40 points in the paint.
- Desiree Wooten started against Wofford and hit an early 3-pointer. Khady Leye played 20 minutes. Freshmen Kamora Pruitt and Annsley Trivette both saw the floor. Their minutes against Campbell will show whether the opener rotation holds.
Campbell
- Campbell is 0-1 after a 62-47 loss to Austin Peay in its opener. Jasmine Felton scored 20 points in that game. The Camels are a CAA program making a short trip to Raleigh. This is not an ACC measuring stick, but it is the second real opponent of the week.
Three things to watch
- Brooks’ efficiency. She was 10-of-15 with six assists against Wofford. Repeating that level of control against Campbell keeps the offense simple heading into Kentucky.
- Lunan’s volume. A career-high 21 points with five 3-pointers was the opener’s breakout. Whether she stays in that scoring range or settles into a smaller role is the clearest rotation question.
- Pruitt and Trivette’s minutes. Both freshmen played against Wofford. A second consecutive game with real minutes, especially late, says more about their place in the rotation than the final margin.
Bottom line
The opener checked the main boxes: Brooks produced, Pierre rebounded, and the defense set an early tone. Wednesday is the chance to see if that holds against a second opponent before the schedule gets harder. Tip is 6 p.m. at Reynolds.
