Big news for Wolfpack fans: former NC State guard Aziaha James has been named to the 2026 USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s AmeriCup Team. Congrats, Zaza!
She’ll join Flau’jae Johnson, Aerial Powers, and Sydney Taylor on the U.S. roster for the FIBA event in San Salvador, El Salvador (Oct. 28–Nov. 1).
James spent all four of her college years in Raleigh under coach Wes Moore, going from a role player early on to one of the program’s top scorers. She put up back-to-back First-Team All-ACC seasons, helped lead the Pack to the 2024 Final Four (where she was Regional Most Outstanding Player), and finished her senior year averaging 17.9 points. She’s now 12th on NC State’s all-time scoring list with nearly 1,600 points.
Moore has talked about her as a great example of player development, and James has called him “like a second dad.” That relationship clearly helped shape her into the pro she’s become. She went 12th overall to the Dallas Wings in 2025 and is still making plays in the WNBA.
Now she’s repping the red, white, and blue in 3×3. Huge moment for a player who came in as a high-school standout from Virginia Beach and left as one of the more productive scorers in recent Wolfpack history.
Congrats again, Aziaha. Pack fans are proud and will be watching.
