This is part of a 25-day series on PackWBB.com leading up to NC State women’s first tip at Reynolds against High Point. Each day gets one talking point. Today is Day 21: transition may be the smarter default.

The Pack does not have a true anchor in the paint anymore. Grinding in the half court is a harder sell when the floor is crowded and the second creator is still a question.

Brooks can push. Pierre can finish before the defense sets. That is the easiest offense this roster has. Get a stop or a rebound, go. Make the other team run with two All-ACC players instead of letting them load up in the half court.

That does not mean run wild and throw the ball away. Michigan already showed what sloppy looks like. It means the first look should be ahead, not a walk-up set every trip.

High Point will tell you if Moore wants that tempo. Who leaks out. Who outlets. Who runs with Brooks instead of jogging to a spot. If this team jogs, it is choosing the harder night. If it runs, it is playing to what it still has.

Quote of the week

““Being that standard, that new standard. Because this team, we really wanted to change the narrative from last year. We wanted to be more assertive on what we’re doing. We want to be tougher as players. We want to be more connected as players, connected with our coaching staff. We just wanted to flip the whole narrative from last year to it just being the Wolfpack. The actual Wolfpack.””
