NC State women’s basketball experienced notable roster turnover this offseason after a 21-11 campaign that included an NCAA Tournament second-round appearance. Several players from the 2025-26 roster entered the transfer portal, with most quickly finding new homes. Here’s the latest on the departures: Mallory Collier, Zamareya “Zam” Jones, Tilda Trygger, and Devyn Quigley, plus an update on Lorena Awou, who left the program earlier in the year.
Mallory Collier → University of South Florida (USF)
The 6-3 junior center was the first to enter the portal in late March 2026 after three seasons in Raleigh. Collier appeared in a reserve role this past season (averaging 2.6 points per game) and has now committed to USF. She brings depth and size to the Bulls’ frontcourt as she enters her final year of eligibility.
Zamareya “Zam” Jones → University of Louisville
One of the biggest names in the portal, the 5-7 sophomore guard announced her departure in late March alongside Collier. A former McDonald’s All-American and top-10 portal prospect, Jones exploded in her second college season, averaging 14.9 points, 3.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game while providing NC State’s most consistent perimeter scoring and playmaking. She officially committed to Louisville in mid-April after an official visit, joining coach Jeff Walz’s squad with two seasons of eligibility remaining. Jones is expected to be a major offensive addition for the Cardinals.
Tilda Trygger → University of Washington
Sophomore forward Tilda Trygger (6-6) entered the portal on April 6 after two seasons as a full-time starter for the Wolfpack. The Swedish big was a double-double threat, posting 10.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game on 51.8% shooting while starting all 30 games. She quickly landed with the Washington Huskies, signing on April 18. Trygger will add immediate interior presence and scoring versatility to coach Tina Langley’s roster as the Huskies continue building in the Big Ten.
Devyn Quigley
The 5-11 sophomore guard became the fourth NC State player to enter the portal in early April. Quigley came off the bench in her two seasons with the Wolfpack, averaging 4.3 points per game. As of April 20, she has not yet announced a commitment and remains available in the portal with two years of eligibility left.
Lorena Awou Update → Baylor University
Awou’s situation unfolded earlier than the spring portal wave. The 6-5 center was indefinitely suspended by coach Wes Moore in December 2025/early January 2026 and was subsequently removed from the team. She entered the portal and committed to Baylor in late January 2026. Due to transfer timing and eligibility rules, the sophomore will sit out the remainder of the 2025-26 season but will be eligible to play for the Bears beginning in 2026-27. She appeared in limited minutes (3.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in eight minutes per game) before her departure.
These moves represent a significant shake-up for head coach Wes Moore’s program, which now turns its focus to the portal and high school recruiting to rebuild the roster for 2026-27. Several other Wolfpack players remain, including standouts like Zoe Brooks and Khamil Pierre, providing a foundation for next season. Updates will continue as the portal window progresses.
