Can we just take a moment to celebrate? Our NC State women’s basketball team just absolutely dominated the California Golden Bears Sunday at Reynolds Coliseum, walking away with a huge 71-60 victory! That means we’re now 11-4 overall and, get this, a perfect 4-0 in ACC play! How awesome is that?!

From the very first whistle, you could feel the energy in Reynolds. The defense was just relentless. The Pack was forcing turnovers left and right, and man, did they make Cal pay! NC State racked up a ridiculous 23 points directly from Cal’s mistakes – that’s like getting free points on the scoreboard! Plus, the transition game was on fire, blowing past them 18-8 for quick buckets. NC State pretty much led the entire game, proving Pack was there to play from start to finish.

The scoring was just fantastic, with everyone stepping up! Khamil Pierre was an absolute beast Sunday, leading us with 21 points on super-efficient shooting, grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists. Zoe Brooks was her usual amazing self, putting up 19 points, grabbing 4 boards, and snagging 4 steals that sparked our fast breaks. And Qadence Samuels, who had a break-out game, was right there with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Now, here’s the thing: The Pack did all this even with a couple of curveballs. Tilda Trigger was sidelined with sickness today, so State was missing her presence, especially one the boards, but the team just rallied even harder. And speaking of rallying, NC State’s emerging superstar, Zamareya Jones, was absolutely electric all game long! She was dishing out dimes and grabbing steals like it was nothing, ending with 12 points, a game-high 7 assists, and 4 steals. But then, bummer, late in the 4th, she went down with a sprained ankle. Seriously hoping she’s okay! If she can’t make the court in Clemson, we will definitely missed her in that crucial road game.

Cal did try to crash the boards like crazy, and hats off to them for that fight – they outrebounded the Pack 42-28. But honestly, their turnovers were basically gifts that the Pack politely accepted, and that’s ultimately what sealed their fate.

So yeah, a fantastic win! NC State shot a solid 44.4% from the floor and were money from the free-throw line. This team just keeps getting better. They’re building serious momentum in the ACC, and it’s super exciting to watch it!
